Kaleb and Rachael met late in their junior year of high school after Kaleb had worked up the courage to ask a girl to prom. She said no. But as it turned out, her friend Rachael (who Kaleb had not yet met) was also looking for a date. Not even an hour later, Rachael had texted Kaleb, and the rest was history.

On New Year’s Day of 2025, just after midnight in downtown Hastings, Kaleb asked Rachael to marry him. Surrounded by fireworks, cold air, and the start of a new year, she said yes!
